A field of 11 runners for this 6 furlong class 6 apprentice jockeys handicap which doesn't inspire much confidence and I was going to leave the race alone but I did a quick review of the few runners who have managed to achieve a recorded rating, Ustath likes to lead if possible so this should be a true run affair which is what I'm banking on because the one I will be backing can find this distance too short if the early pace isn't great, the horses trainer has an overall strike rate of 25% which moves up to 28% with the stables older horses. I will be hoping that JACK RYAN 10/1 (EW) is an each way price which would give me some form of insurance but if it reproduces its best rating from Wolverhampton this year it would be winning with a bit in hand and it has been known to spring back to form without warning and after 4 runs on grass I'm hoping the return to the Tapeta surface will rejuvenate it.
Jack Ryan 40/1 5th -2pt
Total on the day -2pts
