1:00 Brighton Racing Tips (13th July)

BRIGHTON 1.00

A 5 runner race with 2 known front running types, Wiley Post (even money) is forecast to be the six to five favourite but I will look to lay this one as it doesn't seem to appreciate fast good to firm ground and might have been flattered when it won its last race which was a slow run affair so might get outpaced here, T Maxie and Haveoneyerself are my joint 3rd top rated with the latter being one of the known front running types in the race, the 11yo Shamshon can still run a decent race but without winning lately so I will be backing VANDAD 4/1 who could set the pace to the race and if getting to the front should prove hard to catch.

Vandad 4/1 1st +4pts

Lay bet Wiley Post +1pt

Total +5pts

CATTERICK 4.05

Just 5 runners again here with Abate 11/8 looking the most likely leader but it would want to set a slightly slower pace than usual to ensure it stayed the distance but I think it will be collared inside the final furlong so maybe worth laying especially if its the six to five price forecast on the early tissue prices, Oso Rapide is my 4th top rated just 2lbs below Embour in 3rd top spot but they are a few spots behind Natural Path in 2nd top spot which leaves me with the horse I will be backing the 3yo BAY BREEZE 11/2 who seems to love the good to firm ground and usually tracks the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish.

Bay Breeze 11/2 4th -1pt

Lay bet Abate -1pt

Total 0pts

LINGFIELD (AW) 8.30

Wow the biggest field of the day of the sprints I'm interested in, either/or Stay Smart and Bowling Russian could set the pace to this race and the latter could do best of them being my 3rd top rated, the two 3yo’s Libertus 4/1 and Thisismydream 6/1 both run as though further would suit them better but the likely fast early pace here might suit them so I couldn't lay either of the confidently, I will look to lay Porfin 10/3 who is a better horse over shorter distances, I will be taking a bit of a punt in this race by siding with BIG IMPACT 6/1 who is returning after a break of over 270 days so might be ring rusty but if able to reproduce its best rating from Chelmsford last year it would be winning this race a shade cosily, maybe the betting will be the best guide so I will wait until I've seen the betting.

Big Impact 6/1 3rd -1pt

Lay bet Porfin +1pt

Total 0pts

Total on the day +6pts
