1:50 Newmarket Racing Tips (12th April)

NEWMARKET 1.50

I am hoping the going is at least good and maybe good to firm for the start of the Craven meeting, this is a competitive looking class 2 handicap over 6 furlongs, there is a couple of known front running types in the shape of Ostillo in stall 2 and Boogie Time in stall 13 so it should be a good pace across the field and the latter is capable of producing good ratings but in lower class races than today's and I think will be a biggish price, looking at the early tissue prices Bergerac (6/1) who has finished 3rd both times this year is shorter in price than its chances just because its known to be fit but at that price I would look to lay it, some of the 4yo’s could still have improvement in them and could be slightly hidden dangers so any bets to win this race will kept to a low level, I am hoping that GALE FORCE MAYA 6/1 from stall 3 can get a good tow into this race and then stay on the stronger at the finish, the horse has won or been placed in 20 of its 27 runs on grass, it has good trainer stats and decent jockey stats and has won when returning from a break before so hopefully fit enough to do itself justice in this race.

Lay bet Bergerac +1pt

Total +7pts

WOLVERHAMPTON 6.15

This 5 furlong dash looks quite good for a class 5 race and there is a couple of known front running types in the race so it should be a true run affair, I can see two or three that are usually outclassed at this level in Scale Force, Mutabaahy and Amazing Amaya and will be lays if of value to do so while both Brazen Belle and Intervention might be better when racing over a longer distance and the latter won here last time out over an extra furlong and may get outpaced in the early stages here but an inform horse racing again within 3 days of its last victory can be full of confidence and improve for the win so never say never but its not for me, my money will be riding on the top weight OUTRAGE 11/1 who is a 10yo and dropping down in class to run in this race and i am hoping it can lead all the way here, the jockey has an overall strike rate of 23% for the stable and has won on this horse before but with stable having had 10 runners over the last 95 days without a winner my stake will be kept on the low side with an each way bet at the price.

Outage 12/1 4th -1pt

Lay bets Scale Force +1pt, Amazing Amaya +1pt

Total +1pt

Total on the day +8pts
