2:30 Salisbury Racing Tips (25th April)

SALISBURY 2.30

VAPE 11/4 is the only one with a recorded time for this year bu it is only good enough for 5th spot on overall figures but recent times are always a positive, it is the one I expect to be favourite and may not be of value and would then become a possible? lay bet.

SIR RODERIC 11/2 has a time from 2018 that would make it my third top rated but hasn’t been in good form in it’s latest runs but should be staying on at the finish if deploying it’s usual racing tactics but i might think to lay it at the price if its available when there's enough liquidity in the exchange market.

AMATHUS 14/1 hasn’t shown much time wise even when it won on good to firm ground, it can track the leaders or be held up but needs to improve on the stopwatch to win this race but it is a lightly raced four year old so there could be more to come.

LORDSBRIDGE BOY 10/3 comes out second top rated on my figures which was recorded at Windsor last year, it has won before after a break so that isn’t a concern but the trainers 1-25 win ratio at this course is, it usually likes to track the leaders.

GILT EDGE 10/1 is my top rated and it came from this course last year over this distance where it finished second beaten just over seven lengths in a fast run race but if that wasn’t a flukey time it could win this race.

I'M WATCHING 10/3 hasn’t any form on good or good to firm going on turf while it’s best time from the AW courses would only put it in fourth top position so needs to improve for the switch to fast going on grass, maybe worth taking on for the win.

TRUSTY RUSTY 13/2 hasn’t shown much in it’s six previous runs on turf and it’s best form has come when racing over seven furlongs so this distance might be a bit short for it to show its best so maybe a lay at the price.

SUMMARY: Not a race to be getting too heavily involved in, I will be backing GILT EDGE 10/1 hoping it can repeat its previous course and distance time from last year and the trainer has a 29% win ratio with their older horses on this course and the apprentice jockey is 1-9 when riding for the stable. My stake won’t be at full strength because there isn’t any known front runners in the field.

Gilt Edge 10/1 5th  -1pt
