A field of twelve runners with three known front running types in the race one of them Champagne Supernova is out in stall eleven which is not ideal and the jockey’s 1-37 record for the stable is off-putting, Barrington another pace setting type would need to improve time wise to win this race, the three year old COMEATCHOO 11/2 is not a front runner but does have the best of the draw in stall one so should be able to get a good position on the rail just behind the leaders and will be carrying some of my money as will VANDAD 4/1 another three year old and this one is the third of the front running types in the race and from stall four it has the best draw of the usual pacesetters and if getting to the front could prove hard to catch, I will be backing both of them to cover both angles of a front runner and a fast finishing type.

In this five furlong dash four of the nine runners have been known to lead before and that could play into the hands of my selection who likes a fast pace to aim at, the early paced sorts are housed in stalls one, two, four and six so there could be a struggle to gain an early prominent position but I think Boom The Groom who has the best draw will be the one I think will set the pace and could prove hard to catch, Saheeq has a fast time to it’s name but hasn’t shown it’s form recently but would be dangerous if springing back to form without prior warning, i will be pinning my hopes and money on the three year old NEWYORKSTATEOFMIND 5/2 who is housed in stall five so hopefully will be able to gain a good early position from which to attack at the business end of the race and the jockey booking looks a positive move making me think that connections are expecting it to get back to winning ways here.
