2:05 Wolverhampton Racing Tips & Lay Bets (21st June)

WOLVERHAMPTON 2.05

CREEK HARBOUR has only slow times as it usually finds this distance too far for it to shine and will be one I will be looking to lay IT MUST BE FAITH the only known frontrunner in the field and has to, therefore, be considered as a possible winner and if going back to its best time from 2017. It would also be my top rated and its best from 2019 makes it 2nd top-rated on more recent times.

ASTROPHYSICS has got good trainer and jockey stats which may mean that connections are expecting a big run in this race and its best time from 2018 would make it 3rd top-rated overall so could have an each-way chance but doesn't want a really fast early pace which can sap its stamina and that looks like what may happen here.

PUSHKIN MUSEUM the jockey booking looks positive, it hasn't any recent course and distance form but its best time from 2018 would make it 2nd top-rated so could be an each-way call in this race.

QAARAAT doesn't win as often as it should do but does very often make the frame and then its best form has been at a shorter distance so I will look to lay this one and according to the Racing Post tissue price it will be the 5/2 favourite which looks poor value for a horse that's not guaranteed to stay the distance.

ONE ONE SEVEN this one only comes out 4th top overall but its best time from 2019 is the top speed figure for the last year and a half and the jockey booking looks a significant move also it does look the more fancied horse from this stable I hope it's an each-way price as I will be having a covering bet on it.

JEAN'S MATE hasn't any surface form to work with, it's only had 5 runs before so I am not sure what to expect and maybe the betting will be the best guide to the chances of this one but I personally will take a chance and lay this one if at a single figure price.

STORMLIGHTNING hasn't been in form recently and its best form seems to be below what's required to win this race and I expect it to be an outsider and one to lay.

SUMMARY: I will look to lay (Creek Harbour + Astrophysics + Qaaraat + Storm Lightning who may all struggle to stay the trip, + Jeans Mate maybe the wrong surface) both One One Seven and Pushkin Museum could go well and have each-way chances but I am hoping IT MUST BE FAITH 9/2 can lead from start to finish and will be my bet in the race.

It Must Be Faith 6/1 6th (-1pt)

Lay bets: Astrophysics +7pts, Creek Harbour -1pt, Qaaraat -1pt, Storm Lightning -1pt, Jeans Mate -1pt

Total on the day: -2pts
