3:45 Southwell Racing Tips & Lay Bets (10th March)

SOUTHWELL 3.45

I hope all 8 runners take part, I can only find (Mansfield) to lay fairly confidently, I'm not sure if Puchita will be as effective over this shorter trip but did win very easily last time out over 6 furlongs, both Precious Plum and Global Melody have pieces of form that could see them run ok here but maybe only fighting for a place, Archimedes is my 2nd top-rated using its best time from 2018 and being a frontrunner it could be dangerous if allowed a soft lead but my money will be riding on DECISION MAKER 2/1 who likes to track the leaders and housed in stall 3 it could get a good tow into the race and then stay on the stronger.

SOUTHWELL 4.25

Only 6 runners but I cannot confidently lay any of them although Moveonup nearly made the list, Badayel has been known to lead before and stall 1 is ideal and could be very dangerous if allowed to dictate and then kicks from off the bend, Highland Dress finished 2nd on Sunday over this c/d and does need to improve a bit to win this race but is in good form, Split Down South won last time out but that was a relatively slow run affair but I think it will be pushed for the lead here by Moveonup who is the stablemate of my selection ROBERO 11/1 who needs a fast pace to aim at so this race might be run to suit its style.

NEWCASTLE 6.15

I dont know whats wrong today but again theres nothing I can put up confidently as a lay in this race, I would have laid Militia as it may need this run after a break but its the only known front running type in the race so it could get an easy lead and then prove hard to catch, Klopp has been in great form lately but usually in one class lower races than todays contest, Mutabbahy won last time out so is in good heart, once upon a time Dynamo Walt would win this race cosily but hasnt shown anything near good enough since 2018 but never say never, Royal Brave is my 2nd top rated and the jockeys 3lb claim would move it to top spot but the jockeys 0-15 record for this stable on the AW is enough to put me off so my money will be riding on the topweight FOXY FOREVER 13/2 who likes to track the leaders and it could get a good tow into the race with the likely leader drawn on its inside and this one has good trainer/jockey stats which hopefully point to connections expecting a big run here.
