3:20 Southwell Racing Tips & Lay Bets (20th February)

SOUTHWELL 3.20

Quite a competitive race for a class 5 affair with just 6 runners, the one I will be looking to lay is (Big Time Maybe) only Young Tiger isn't known as a frontrunner and could stay on at the finish and could go close but I will be backing GREEN DOOR 7/2 who is dropped in class from its last race where it led and only got caught close home to finish 2nd and has a chance here to go one better.

SOUTHWELL 3.50

Only 5 runners in this race and to be honest I couldn't lay anything with confidence, I think the pace may be set by Samovar but I don't think it will be able to hold on but if allowed an easy lead it could be dangerous, my money will be on the hold-up type SANDRIDGE LAD 5/2 who has won its last 3 races and has a chance to make it four in a row here.

CHELMSFORD 5.30

Again a small field this time 7 runners, I have a couple I will be looking to lay, (Waneen + It Must Be Faith) Becker comes out 3rd best using a time from Kempton this year but its best time over this c/d from2018 is way below that level, Tomshalfbrother comes out 2nd top-rated overall using a c/d time but it's still a maiden after 10 attempts, my money will be riding on TIME TO REASON 3/1 who comes out 2nd best on 2019/20 c/d times but has a time from Lingfield that makes it top-rated overall and hopefully it can go one better than its last 2 runs where it finished 2nd.

Time To Reason 3/1 4th

Lay bets: Waeen (+1pt) It Must Be Faith (+1pt)

CHELMSFORD 6.00

A decent field of 11 runners in this race and I can only find one to lay (Omran) there is quite a few with times from different courses that would make them competitive and I wouldn't be surprised which ones of these fill the places, Split Down South, Fen Breeze, Swiss Pride, Lalania, Venture, Excellent George, Suzi's Connoisseur or Camachess, I will be taking a bit of a punt on NICK VEDDER 18/1 who will be trying to stay on strongly at the finish the only downside is the jockeys 0-7 record for this stable but that is reflected in the price which I think is a generous price and I cannot let it run without an each-way bet on it.
