2:15 Lingfield Racing Tips (4th January)

LINGFIELD 2.15 

BOOM THE GROOM 11/2 not so long ago this horse would have eaten this lot for breakfast but age is catching up with it, this is another drop in class but I can't quite see this 9-year-old winning here.

VENTURE 4/1 only had 3 runs and won at Kempton over this distance last time it ran, that was a slow run affair and it would need to improve to win this race so not for me and not bad value to lay being the favourite.

ALFIE SOLOMONS 10/1 can sometimes find 6 furlongs a touch too far for it and I don't think this race will be run to suit it so another for my lay list if coming into a single figure price.

SWORD EXCEED 25/1 hasn't shown much timewise recently and even going back to its best from 2017 it would still need to improve to win this race and is a big priced outsider. 

SOMETHING LUCKY 5/1 is my 2nd top-rated horse and the losing streak of 25 doesn't inspire me with confidence and may struggle to see out the trip in a fast run affair but could still possibly make the frame but I might lay the win part at the price.

ALICIA DARCY 7/1 has good trainer/jockey stats and being my 4th top-rated it could possibly make the frame but may need some luck in running in the make-up of this race so maybe worth a small lay.

FAIRY FAST 20/1 has only slow times at this distance mainly because the distance appears to be too far for it so another on my lay list but not at the price.

AGUEROOO 16/1 my top rated from a 2019 time and has a class jockey booked to ride, stall 7 isn't ideal but could get a good tow into the race by the stall 8 frontrunning type and is worth an each-way punt at the price.

VELVET MORN 10/1 is a possible pacesetter in this race despite being in stall 8 but it won't get its own way at the head of affairs here and may find itself outpaced and use too much energy in the early stages and then fade nearing the line.

AWSAAF 7/1 has only slow times at this c/d and again its mainly because the distance appears to be too far for it and stall 12 isn't any help for another that has been known to lead before and worth a small lay at the price.

ACT OF MAGIC 40/1 hasn't any distance form to its name as all its runs have been over further and it might find things happening too fast for it in this race and is the outsider in this race.

MONT KIARA 10/1 is versatile when it comes to its racing tactics and is just outside my top 4 ratings, it has been known to lead before and stall 4 could be ok to try it in this race but would need others to falter to actually win the race.

SUMMARY: If you read through all the blogs about each horse you will notice that I have given a negative against every horse in winning the race barring the one which is my top rated and the horse I will be backing, there is plenty of others that could make the frame here and quite a few I could lay (depending on the betting) remember there's plenty of ways of making a profit from a race.
